About the Event
Many of the bird species that we see in the Hudson Valley moved here only in recent decades, and many once common bird species are no longer found here. Join us for an early morning birdwatching walk with an emphasis on Northeastern indigenous bird names and folklore. After the walk, we'll gather for coffee and a presentation about much Hudson Valley bird life has changed over the past five centuries. Note that we will be walking through a variety of habitats, including meadow, mature forest, and the rocky shores of a large creek, so bring good walking shoes and binoculars.
Advance registration for this event is required, and space is limited. Note that this admission for this event (and our Medicine Walk with Mohican Herbalist Misty Cook!) is included in an Eco Camp reservation. Book a Weekend Stay to take a deep dive into Northeastern Native culture!
