About the Event
Join us for a mushroom walk with certified mushroom foraging guide Meghan Hetfield to explore the wide world of fungi, from wild mushroom identification to mushroom cultivation. Learn about the incredible Mycelial networks of fungi, how to notice and identify local fungi and learn the benefits of this incredible food/medicine. Anna Plattner of Wild Hudson Valley will give a tour of the outdoor mushroom "laying yard," and together we'll learn about (and taste!) edible and medicinal mushrooms. Our goal is pass along the power of fungi to bring joy, wonder, connection and healing into our lives.
About our Guest Guide: This walk will be led by Meghan Hetfield, who is certified in mushroom and food safety, and is a Nationally Certified Peer Recovery Support Specialist working in the addiction/harm reduction field. Meghan has found fungi and plant medicines to be an integral part of her mental health and wellness journey. She is a passionate advocate for people finding their own unique pathway to wellness and loves supporting people to find what that pathway looks like for them.
Please Note that advance registration for this event is required, and space is limited. However, admission for this event is included in an Eco Camp reservation!
