Mindful Nature Walk

Did you know that nature has the ability to calm, inspire, and restore us? We often don't notice the complex wonders before us as we hurry through our days. Let's slow down together, open our senses in nature, take a breath, and reconnect.

About the Event

On August 28th, join Kripalu-certified Mindful Outdoor Guide, Molly Freiberg, for a Mindful Nature Walk at Wild Hudson Valley Farm and Sanctuary. Mindfulness practices, breathing, and gentle movement in this beautiful setting will help us drop into the present moment and feel the liveliness in ourselves and on the living earth. If you've ever been curious about the well-established Japanese practice of "Forest Bathing", now is your chance to try it! Beginners welcome!

Bring water and a snack; we recommend long pants and comfortable walking shoes. Fully vaccinated people are not required to wear masks, but of course may choose to. Unvaccinated people will need to wear masks when we gather up as a group if social distancing is not possible. This is on the honor system, so please do your part to help keep everyone safe. Let's respect everyone's varying comfort levels during this transition period.

Bio: Molly Freiberg studied at the Kripalu School of Mindful Outdoor Leadership in 2018 to become a certified Mindful Outdoor Guide. She leads monthly Mindful Nature Walks for the Rensselaer Plateau Alliance, the land trust where she works as the Community Engagement Manager. Molly is also a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who trained at the Gestalt Therapy Institute of Philadelphia and is engaged with nature-based therapies, provides training to therapists and counselors about mindfulness in nature, and supervises MSW students. We are not just in relationship with nature--we are part of it, from it, and supported by it. When we remember our reciprocal connection to the living earth and allow our roots to be nourished, we allow our own authenticity to emerge, can experience embodied liveliness and awe, and can discover new paths for ourselves.
