About the Event
Centuries ago, winter was a time for storytelling in the warmth of bark-covered wigwams. However, indigenous people spent plenty of time in the cold outdoors, and had many fascinating techniques for surviving and thriving through winter's chill. Join us for a winter walk guided by ethnoecologist Justin Wexler of Wild Hudson Valley, an explorer of Hudson Valley native culture, language, and history for twenty years. We will look at everything from animal tracks to dormant trees, and learn about their names and roles in local native land use.
