About the Event
At this kid-oriented event, we'll walk through the fields and forests of our forest farm identifying the flora and fauna we encounter along the way. Using these plants and animals as examples, we'll imagine the daily lives and culture of Lenape people living here centuries ago, from plants traditionally wild harvested for food, medicines, and fiber to tools and traditional practices for building, hunting, and fishing. Connecting to today, we'll also talk about where these Native communities are living now and how they ended up where they are.
After the walk, families are welcome to stay on site to picnic and free play. This is not a drop-off program, parents are required to stay on site during the event and are welcome to join for the guided walk. Advance registration is required.
