About the Event

Join us for a guided walk to imagine the daily lives of local native people five centuries ago. We'll explore a native meadow and ancient floodplain forest with a focus on how these landscapes were traditionally managed for food, tools, fiber, dyes, and medicine. Connecting the past to the present, we'll also talk about the contemporary displaced Lenape and Mohican communities and their efforts to preserve their beautiful languages and culture.

Advance registration for this event is required, and space is limited. Note that admission for this event is included in an Eco Camp reservation. Book a Weekend Stay to take a deep dive into regional indigenous culture and history: admission to our Saturday workshop/presentation by Munsee language teacher Kristin Jacobs of the Moraviantown Delaware Nation is also included in an Eco Camp reservation! Details on Kristin’s workshop coming soon…
