About the Event
Join us for a hands-on workshop on growing edible mushrooms on logs! Mushroom logs (called bolts) are a great way to utilize wood from your property to produce healthy and nutritious food. This outdoor workshop will help you gain a better understanding of mushrooms, their importance to the ecosystem, and their many uses. Participants will go through each step of the process of inoculating a mushroom log for outdoor cultivation. You will learn what types of wood are best for growing different species of mushrooms, where you can source your own mushroom spawn, and how to take care of your log to ensure bountiful harvests. Each participant will go home with their own inoculated log, which will produce mushrooms several times a year for years to come! This is a beginner course - no skills are required, and all materials are provided.
Advance registration for this event is required. Participants are required to wear a mask, please do not attend if you are feeling ill or have been exposed to someone with COVID.
